It sounds like your save file was corrupted when your PC was shut off with the game running. you can also find the save files in C:\users (user)\AppData\LocalLow\Monomi Park\Slime Rancher and just copy them to manually back it up. I got a reply from the devs and just in case you didn't email them or you haven't been able to get help elsewhere. steam has its cloud save feature so you can back it up there if needed.
